Year 7 Open Mornings

This week, we were delighted to welcome our new Year 7 cohort to open mornings ahead of their September start at Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School. Mr Robson, our Headteacher, introduced students and parents to the school’s core values of scholarship, character, and community, setting the tone for the exciting journey ahead.

Families also had the chance to hear about the curriculum, safeguarding, SEN support, and pastoral care, making sure everyone feels informed and ready for the move to secondary school.

A real highlight was the talk given by Charlotte and Anita from Smartphone Free Childhood, who shared how smartphones have reshaped childhood over the last 15 years, and why the evidence suggests they might be doing more harm than good. It was a message that really hit home with both students, parents and staff.

It was wonderful to meet so many of our new pupils and their families and start building the sense of community that makes BVGS special.
