In 2027, Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School reaches an extraordinary milestone: 500 years of history, achievement and community.
Since its foundation, our school has been shaped by generations of pupils, staff and families, united by a shared belief in the power of education and the importance of scholarship, character and community. Our quincentenary is an opportunity to celebrate all that has made Bishop Vesey’s special, while looking ahead to an exciting future.
Throughout this landmark year, we’ll bring our community together through a diverse programme of events and celebrations. Whether you’re a current pupil, parent or member of staff, a former pupil, or a friend of the school, there will be plenty of opportunities to get involved.

Vesey Voices
An exciting fortnightly programme of talks featuring some of our accomplished alumni, who will share their experiences, insights and career journeys, inspiring and guiding current students as they work towards their future goals. ‘Looking for Vesey’ Play
Date for Chapter 1 – 13th November 2026
A theatrical experience designed to unfold over the course of the academic year. The play will be written in ‘Chapters’: instead of presenting a single performance in one venue, the play is divided into thematic chapters performed in different locations with different groups of pupil through the year. Rugby 7’s Tournament – 20th March
A national rugby tournament for 40 schools at Under 12 boys and Under 18 girls. Our goal is to create a standout occasion that not only celebrates the school’s rich heritage but also leaves a lasting legacy for future generations.
Founder’s Day celebrations – 14th May
Tours of the school followed by a multi-faith service at Holy Trinity Parish Church and lunch at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall. Booking information to be shared soon.
Tudor Festival – 18th and 19th June
A Tudor-themed festival of fun and celebration for the whole BVGS community. Join us for sporting events, exciting activities, live music and a delicious selection of street food. Booking information to be shared soon.
Giving Day Concert – 25th June
