Speech Night 2026

The annual BVGS Speech Night took place at Sutton Town Hall on 16th April, bringing together current pupils, staff, alumni and their families for a memorable evening of celebration and reflection.

It was a pleasure to welcome back prizewinners from the Class of 2025, along with their families to celebrate their outstanding exam success, and to recognise the achievements of our current pupils. Awards were presented to those who excelled in their A Level and GCSE subjects, as well as to current pupils who have made a significant contribution to the school community since joining the Sixth Form.

Moving and engaging speeches from Mr Robson and Dr Rackham set a powerful tone for the evening. The evening was expertly compered by Mr Brocklebank, with award winners announced by Mr Freer and Mr White. The event was brilliant supported by lots of Vesey staff, while Mr Lenthall and our talented musicians provided a fantastic soundtrack to the start of the evening that really added to the occasion.

We were delighted to welcome back former student Sunjay Kohli (Class of 2013) as our guest speaker. Sunjay shared his journey into the creative industries, including founding his own artist, creator & brand services agency, AAA Media, specialising in YouTube strategy. His message, encouraging students to face uncertainty with confidence, resonated strongly with pupils, families, and staff alike. Delivered with clarity and gravitas, it was both inspiring and highly relevant.

Current School Captains Elliot and Sheoli rounded the presentation off with a thoughtful vote of thanks before inviting guests to enjoy food, drinks and lots of catching up!

A huge thank you to all the pupils and their families for joining us, and to the staff who organised and supported such a successful evening.
