U14 Hockey Team Progress!

U14 Hockey Team Progress!

Vesey’s U14 hockey team showed three private schools a clean pair of heels in qualifying for Regional finals at the Warwickshire County tournament on Tuesday. Solihull, Warwick and Rugby schools, together with King Henry V111 Grammar, did not manage a goal between them as BVGS won every game and showed once again that this state school can dine at the top table. Well done boys and good luck in the next round!

In a very tight contest against Rugby school in the semi-final a scrambled goal mid-way through the second half proved to be the difference. Due to a freezing pitch the final will against KES Birmingham will be played in 2 weeks but the boys have now qualified for the zonal Regional rounds. Well done on a fantastic achievement, particularly given the artic conditions!

The 1st XI beat Welbeck College 8-0 in the first round of the National Cup, the U’16’s performed very well against Bablake 1XI losing 3-1, 3rd XI won 3-1 against Bablake 2nds

U’15 ‘a’ team won 4-0 vs K Henry VII and the ‘b’ team won 8-1 against the same opposition.

U’14 ‘b’ beat Q Mary’s ‘a’ team 2-1.

The year 7’s started their hockey programme in earnest with an excellent block fixture against Foremarke Hall school.
