The Sexual Health and Relationships Education Programme at Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School has a key role to play in furthering the personal development and the general education of each and every student.
Year 7 – Our School Nurse runs an awareness raising session on puberty for each form group.
Year 8 – Our School Nurse runs a ‘Sex and Relationships’ session for each form group.
Year 9 – They explore Sexual Health and Relationships through their Citizenship programme.
Year 10 – During their Citizenship curriculum they undertake a sex and relationships programme.
Year 11 – During their Citizenship curriculum they have an awareness raising session focused upon sexual relationships and STIs.
Year 12 and 13 – We have awareness raising assemblies for Sexual Health.
We are a member of the C-Card scheme.
Parents are always very welcome to see a more detailed outline of the Sex Education Programme, along with any materials used, and to discuss the Programme with a member of staff.
