Carolyn Nicholl Carolyn Nicholl

I have been a Governor for seven months and serve on the Teaching and Learning Committee as well as supporting the Ofsted focus group.

I have over 34 years’ experience of working in secondary education and my last role, until retirement in September 2010, was as School Inspector and Senior County Science Adviser in Warwickshire. Calling upon my 24 years teaching experience (in two grammar and three comprehensive schools, as well as two FE colleges) and my training as an Ofsted Inspector, I have been extensively involved in school improvement, providing both support and challenge for secondary schools. I have also led the work of the Local Authorities’ Secondary Strategy Team, focussing on intervention for schools facing challenging circumstances, and evaluated the work of Advisers.

I enjoy playing tennis and golf and am Senior Steward at my local church. Other interests include travel and singing in a choir.
