Jerrard 100

Jerrard 100

On Friday, we celebrated the life of Flight Lieutenant Alan Jerrard, who was awarded the Victoria Cross for his bravery in the Royal Flying Corps in March 1918. Over 250 students from across the school attended the service in Big School, along with parents, governors and guests, including the Lord Mayors of Birmingham and Sutton, The Chaplain to her Majesty the Queen, Andrew Mitchell MP and representatives from RAF Cosford and the University of Birmingham Air Squadron, as well as a distant relative of Alan, Tom Jerrard, who flew in from Canada especially. To read more about the service here is a link to an article from OV Nick Hammond https://alumni.bvgs.co.uk/news/school-news/130/JERRARD-
